Like so many other artists, the eccentric Salvador Dalí had an intense and prolific relationship with food. The dinners organized with his wife and muse Gala were legendary.

In 1973 Dalí published the cookbook Les dîners de Gala, a book that was reissued in 2016 under the TASCHEN wing.

In it, illustrations and recipes show the exotic dishes, another aspect of the overflowing imagination of this artist, known worldwide for capturing his fantasy world in a very special way.

The book brings together a total of one hundred thirty-six recipes, in twelve chapters, specially illustrated by Dalí and organized according to the different dishes. A special section dedicated to aphrodisiacs is included. The illustrations and recipes are accompanied by Dalí’s extravagant reflections like: “The jaw is our best tool to hold on to philosophical knowledge”.

” Exquisite french touch and surreal reflections in your kitchen. With classic recipes from the great Parisian restaurants, such as La Tour d’Argent and Maxim’s, illustrations created by Dalí himself and a section on aphrodisiacs, this book is a work of art, practical recipe book, and multisensory pleasure object”.
